Exciting times are ahead for XCAM, based in Northampton, as they join forces with Craft Prospect on the groundbreaking SALIENT project! Funded by the Centre for Earth Observation Instrumentation, this collaboration is set to revolutionise satellite operations with the innovative Context Imager. 

XCAM’s cutting-edge NuSCIS system is at the heart of this project, providing real-time decision-making capabilities that have been rigorously tested and are ready for deployment in the OPS-SAT VOLT mission. This mission promises to showcase the incredible potential of NuSCIS in space.

For XCAM, this marks a significant milestone—the first flight of NuSCIS equipped with a CMV4000 CMOS image sensor. This advancement opens up exciting possibilities for applications such as rendezvous and proximity operations, guidance and navigation, and situational awareness. Building on the success of C3D for UKube-1, NuSCIS is designed to be a flexible, modular imaging system perfect for low Earth orbit missions.
