Brothers behind The Shire Retreat launch co-working space blending work and wellbeing
“We think the lines between work and lifestyle have shifted. An office doesn’t need to be somewhere you sit at a desk all day,” says George Taylor, one of the brothers behind it all. “At The Shire Works, a typical day might start with a morning yoga session, lunch by the lake, and finish with a game of tennis.”
The Shire Works is a new co-working and small office offering at Pury Hill Business Park in Northamptonshire, set to open in July 2026.
The family-run estate, formerly a dairy farm, is introducing a workspace for small businesses, freelancers and remote workers looking for more than a standard office environment.
Set within 150 acres of parkland, lakes and restored farm buildings, the project builds on decades of work by Neill and Julie Taylor, alongside newer wellness ventures led by their sons George and Josh, including SUKU Saunas and The Shire Retreat.
The Shire Works will offer private serviced offices for teams of 2 to 12, alongside dedicated co-working desks, with a strong focus on the wider environment and facilities available on site.
Members will have access to a gym, walking trails, tennis court, sauna and cold plunge, as well as lakes for wild swimming. A growing programme of activity will include yoga, sound baths and hosted retreats run with local practitioners, with recently approved padel courts also set to be added to the mix.
Located 15 minutes from Milton Keynes and Northampton, The Shire Works is now open for enquiries and tours ahead of its opening.
