Since opening in 2019, Silverstone Museum has drawn visitors from around the world with immersive displays on the history of British motorsport, interactive exhibits, and unique memorabilia collections. Located trackside of the world-famous Silverstone circuit, visitors to Silverstone Museum experience an unmissable journey through British motorsport history, its technology, and thrills. Throughout the year, its ever-evolving exhibits, have attracted visitors from across the globe.

Growth and Development: Significant investment has been made in recent years to ensure the content at the Museum is fresh and relevant, with themed exhibitions celebrating key milestones in the history of the sport. In the last two years, brand new interactive exhibits have also been added to the experience, including an extremely popular suite of simulators that allow budding racing drivers and keen gamers to race around world-famous circuits in racing sims powered by the latest technology. Another recent addition is a giant-sized Silverstone Scalextric track where visitors of all ages can challenge each other on this popular hands-on racing game that features all the famous landmarks of the circuit and even includes a Red Arrows flypast.

All this has contributed to the Museum seeing record visitor numbers of over 160,000 in 2024, growing from 119,000 in 2022, the first full year of opening since the COVID pandemic.

Future Growth Plans: Silverstone Museum has an exciting future ahead and will continue to grow alongside the world-famous racetrack as it enters the start of a new ten-year contract to host Formula 1. As Silverstone continues on its drive to become a leading leisure destination open all year-round, visitor numbers will increase, and the museum intends to capitalise on this growing audience with fresh and new content to keep fans interested and engaged in the fascinating world of motorsport.
