Discover Northamptonshire is the official VisitEngland-recognised Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) and tourism body for Northamptonshire, leading efforts to grow the county’s visitor economy and raise its profile nationally and internationally.
Working closely with businesses, attractions, public sector organisations, educational institutions and industry leaders, Discover Northamptonshire champions the county as a destination to visit, invest in and experience. Behind the organisation is a dedicated LVEP Board made up of leaders from across the public and private sectors, helping to shape policy, influence strategic priorities and stimulate economic growth across Northamptonshire.
With a strong focus on placemaking, business engagement and tourism development, Discover Northamptonshire aligns local ambitions with national tourism strategies to maximise the economic and social benefits that visitors bring to the county.
Ongoing Growth:
The Discover Northamptonshire Hub, based at Rushden Lakes, was established in 2021, launching during English Tourism Week with a vision to create a stronger, more connected visitor economy for the county.
Since then, Discover Northamptonshire has gone from strength to strength. A major milestone was achieved in 2025 when Discover Northamptonshire was awarded official LVEP status by VisitEngland, providing direct access to national guidance, marketing campaigns, industry support and funding opportunities.
This recognition has accelerated growth and activity across the county’s tourism sector. In 2025, Discover Northamptonshire launched its first Tourism Awards, celebrating the businesses, attractions and individuals that make the county’s visitor economy thrive. Following the local awards, Pub of the Year winners, The Tollemache Arms, successfully progressed to the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence and secured a Bronze Award. Building on this momentum, Discover Northamptonshire hosted its first countywide tourism conference in 2026, which brought together industry professionals and saw exciting announcements including the announcement of Model Britain coming to West Northants!
Alongside flagship events, marketing campaigns continue to expand the reach of the Discover Northamptonshire brand, growing audience engagement and raising awareness of everything the county has to offer. The LVEP also brings partners together to drive the growth of Northamptonshire’s visitor economy, setting shared strategic priorities and focusing activity on key areas including accessibility
