Northamptonshire’s New Rural Co-Working & Office Space Opens Its Doors Next Week
The Shire Works welcomes its first members on 27 July. Ahead of the opening, here’s a first look at the new workspace.
When The Shire Works was announced in May, it promised something Northamptonshire hadn’t seen before: a professional co-working space set within acres of open countryside, where the working day might end with a sauna or a game of tennis.
Next week, it opens.
The Shire Works offers hot desk day passes, dedicated desk memberships and private serviced offices for teams of two to ten. The workspace sits within the grounds of The Shire Retreat at Pury Hill Business Park, near Towcester, just fifteen minutes from both Milton Keynes and Northampton.
George Taylor, who runs The Shire Works alongside his brother Josh, said:
“Where you work shapes how you work. We created The Shire Works to bring together beautifully designed workspaces with nature and wellness. A typical day might start with yoga, continue with focused work, lunch by the lake, and end with a sauna as the sun sets.”
Members have access to the wider estate alongside their workspace, including walking and running trails, a café, a gym, a tennis court, a sauna and cold plunge, and a swimming lake. A growing programme of activities will include yoga, sound baths and events led by local practitioners. Padel courts are also planned.
The project is the latest chapter in the evolution of Pury Hill. Over several decades, the Taylor family has transformed the former dairy farm into a thriving rural estate. Brothers George and Josh have built on that with the launch of SUKU Saunas, The Shire Retreat and now The Shire Works, creating one of Northamptonshire’s most distinctive destinations for work, wellness and events.
