Greyfriars Green, a visionary project by West Northamptonshire Council and Studio Egret West, has been awarded with the “Future Place (Up to 10ha)” award at The Pineapples 2025. This prestigious accolade celebrates spaces that foster community, welcome visitors, attract tenants, and contribute to urban life, while making a positive environmental and social impact.

Greyfriars Green is set to transform 25 acres of derelict buildings into vibrant spaces, including an arts and culture hub at the Corn Exchange and a business incubator at Belgrave House. The project also features an outdoor amphitheatre and new homes, creating a dynamic neighbourhood with shops, cafes, and restaurants. The vision for Greyfriars Green aims to breathe new life into the area, making it a place where people can live, work, connect, learn, and play.

The judges were on the lookout for a place that not only enhances urban life but also makes a positive environmental and social impact. The project is a testament to the innovative and collaborative spirit that defines West Northants. By reimagining several derelict buildings with exciting new uses, Greyfriars Green is set to become a cornerstone of the community, fostering a sense of belonging and vibrancy.
