Biketrac: 17 years at Silverstone Park – and still growing
After 17 years at Silverstone Park, Biketrac (part of the Alltrac group) has grown from a motorcycle-focused start up into one of the UK’s most versatile vehicle tracking specialists.
Now operating from upgraded offices within the Innovation Centre, the company continues to expand into new markets while maintaining an exceptional 94% recovery rate.
Originally founded to provide the motorcycle market with purpose-built tracking devices, the company’s technology now also covers ATVs, cars, e-bikes, agricultural machinery and marine equipment, with OEM endorsements from Suzuki and Tohatsu.
“Tracking existed, but not in a way that genuinely deterred motorcycle theft. It took a few years to break through, but once the manufacturers came on board everything changed. Motorcycle manufacturers were already making quad bikes, so ATVs were a next natural step. From there, we were approached by woodchipper firms, tractor operators, even golf clubs wanting to protect greens machinery.”

Diversification has been driven by customer need and industry crossover.
Each tracking device is engineered for its specific sector, supported by 24/7 monitoring, GPRS (general packet radio service), RF (radio frequency) and now Wi Fi to overcome battery challenges.
They are then installed discreetly to avoid detection, with Biketrac training manufacturers in best practice fitting techniques to ensure maximum security.
Biketrac’s partnership with Securitas provides an assessed response team and, when police struggle to attend, an SIA accredited officer can be deployed anywhere in the UK within four hours. Average recovery time sits between 60 and 90 minutes.
Whilst Biketrac’s customers remain predominantly UK-based, international recoveries are not uncommon, from stolen bikes found in Europe to a 2025 case where a container yard in Essex revealed £300,000 of stolen motorcycles.
With customer support, technical operations and five staff based at Silverstone Park, Biketrac continues to scale.
“A few years ago, we even recovered a motorcycle belonging to TV presenter Charley Boorman. Competition keeps us sharp but misunderstanding of technology is still a challenge – an AirTag isn’t a security device. The Innovation Centre gives us prestige and a real wow factor. It’s been home since day one – and still the perfect place for us to grow.”
