IRIS IoT and Age Impulse Partner to Bring GaiTwin® Fall-Risk Technology to the UK
IRIS IoT, a specialist provider of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, today announced a strategic collaboration with Age Impulse, developer of GaiTwin®, an award-winning wearable solution for assessing fall risk in older adults.
The collaboration aims to support the development of preventative fall-risk strategies for the 65+ population, helping seniors stay safe and independent in their own homes.
The partnership combines IRIS IoT’s expertise in IoT infrastructure and device integration with the GaiTwin® platform, which includes a wearable sensor and mobile app that assess a person’s mobility and balance from just 15 seconds of walking
Through this collaboration, care homes, home care providers, and telecare distributors across the UK will be able to offer a fast, easy fall-risk screening tool as part of their existing services.
Unlike traditional fall-detection devices, which only respond after a fall has occurred, GaiTwin® is designed to flag risk beforehand, guiding at-risk individuals towards their GP, a physiotherapist, or remote assistance.
The first phase of the rollout will focus on assisted living facilities and telecare distributors across the UK.
